SHIRT KING PHADE
In the early days of Hip Hop, a crew from New York known as The Shirt Kings created a following with their custom airbrushed t-shirts. It was a passion for graffiti transferred from the surface of trains to the surface of t-shirts.
Customization is the hallmark of the Shirt Kings. For every piece and customer, the graffiti was custom-made. Always painted with airbrush, the Shirt King style is immediately recognizable. Remixing pop culture elements and icons, we see Mickey Mouse sporting a gold chain while smoking, the Pink Panther reclining on a champagne bottle, and more. Through their vision, cartoons became badass, and a part of the foundation of graffiti streetwear.
Shirt King Academy is the educational branch of The Shirt Kings. The Academy is the brain child of Shirt Kings founder, Edwin “Phade” Sacasa a.k.a. Shirt King Phade, birthed in 2008 as a need to educate and inspire artists, creatives and humans to aspire to a higher plateau by experience. The Academy is not only a brand but so many more components to help prepare future generations through entrepreneurship and creative thinking. The Academy seeks to lead the culture in Museum, Tradeshows, Graffiti murals, Books, Movies, Documentary, Podcast and Design.
